Colour course about the power of colour

Colour is a powerful way to communicate your message to your target audience. If you are a designer or a business owner you are probably aware on some level of the impact colour can have to project the right image to clients. But did you know that if you know how to use colour correctly it can also be used to attract people to your business increasing your turnover? It can also be used to influence your clients’ behaviour and buying patterns.

There is science behind the use of colours. Colours travel through our eyes to our brain causing various physical reactions in our bodies including hormonal releases. Colours can stimulate our nervous system and emotional states. This means that the colours you use in your business or for your clients are very important to create the right impact.

Marketing and advertising industries have recognised the impact colour can have for years and use colour to influence buying or consumption behaviour. For example did you know fast-food restaurants use red in their logo because red stimulates the senses encouraging you to eat more and spend more money?

Colour can be used to emphasises a business identity and add professional impact to communications. It can reflect a businesses attitudes, capabilities and philosophy. It should be memorable and strike the right cord with potential clients. The colours you use in your business will also be dependent on who your target audience is that you want to communicate with.
