Colour is a truthful messenger

Red

Red is the colour of passion, speed, courage and material things. It is also the colour of passion, love and erotica. Red is a physical colour also in the way that it activates all our senses; it makes us alert, it makes us aware.

Orange

Orange is the colour of warmth and vitality, activity and playfulness. It is, therefore, a good colour to use for marketing toys, games and novelty products. Because orange is a fun-loving and social colour and a colour that attracts attention and loves parties, It is a spontaneous, social, energetic and enthusiastic colour with a good sense of humour.

Yellow

Yellow is the colour of the sun, bringing joy and happiness and playfulness. Yellow is a colour that creates clarity of thought which allows you to face life without fear. It will create a feeling of self-trust self-confidence. Yellow helps us to focus and concentrate, keeping us awake and stimulating us psychologically.

Olive / lime green

Olive Lime green is a combination of green and yellow. Every spring, we experience feelings of hope and trust in life when we see the first green leaves appear on the trees and plants. Olive Lime green also represents feminine and/or creative leadership qualities.

Green

Green is the colour of mediation and will always try and find harmony, balance and peace. It will try to allow parties to unite in a tactful and calm manner by trying to solve conflict through our emotions. Green is a colour that is often used in hospitals – especially in operating theatres, as it is the opposite of red, the colour of blood.

Turquoise

Turquoise is a happy, sparkling, spontaneous and playful colour just like the dolphins in the sea. Dolphins are very intelligent beings but very playful and spontaneous. If you are a so-called ‘turquoise personality’, you will have a sparkling personality with great imagination.

Blue

Blue is also the colour of diplomacy by communicating effectively and creating a feeling of trust. Blue expresses a sense of being in control and reliable. Blue is also the colour of communication and is therefore often used in social media like Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and skype.

Navy Blue

Dark blue or indigo blue is a colour that is commonly used by people that want to express authority and it is therefore also used for this reason in police uniforms, pilot uniforms and the suits of business people. By declaring their authority, they also express their professionalism and communicate to us that they know what they are doing.

Purple

Purple is the colour of spirituality, intelligence and wealth. It can also mean royal, sentimental, creative and sophistication. If you are a so-called ‘purple personality’, you are an intuitive person with strong psychic abilities. You are a sensitive thinker who can inspire, teach and assist others.

Violet

Violet helps open the channels to our spiritual nature and enables us to connect with creative and spiritual energy. It is a spiritual, intuitive and meditative colour. Because violet is a spiritual colour, it is a colour that expresses a willingness to help humanity in its development, through the intentions, ideas and dreams of humankind.

Magenta

Magenta is a colour that is used by people that have an eye for detail, such as interior designers or those people that have to produce very detailed work and need this eye for detail but are not afraid to do things differently and are not afraid to draw attention to themselves.

Pink

Pink is the representation of the feminine, of softness, tenderness, support and compassion. It is a soft colour, often seen as a ‘baby’ colour. The colour of the womb is soft pink and it is the place where we normally experience unconditional love, care and warmth.

Burgundy

Burgundy represents the appreciation for the physical, but in an elegant and controlled manner. Burgundy is the colour of luxury, elegance and indulgence. It is a colour that likes to maintain tradition and is not associated with new beginnings; it is strong, determined and powerful but with an elegant and refined touch.

Brown

The colour brown in home and office gives a warm protective, stable and safe effect. Brown has a calming effect on emotions and helps with clear and logical thinking. Brown also represents durability and this emotion is used in marketing to promote stability, reliability and the ‘value for money, no-nonsense approach.

Black

Black is a closed and strong colour. Black represents the mysterious, the inability to see the obvious. It does not show its emotions and makes the statement of: “I am in control, I am reserved’. Because of this, it is a powerful, strong colour, but also a mysterious colour, as it doesn’t give anything away. Black allows building an emotional wall and that is why this colour is often used by counsellors and therapists to avoid showing their emotions and to protect their own feelings.

Grey

Grey is a colour of analytical thinking. Therefore, grey can also be related to quality, straightforwardness and professionalism where emotions are not allowed to interfere with the intellect or the mind. Grey is a neutral colour and expresses neutrality and impartiality. This colour not only represents precision but also self-discipline and self-control.

White

White Clothing has always been connected to innocence (bride), purity (spiritual teachers) and order and cleanliness (doctors, nurses). People who often wear white are naturally open-minded, sensitive and optimistic. It is a vulnerable colour (so easily soiled, literally and figuratively), but also a very optimistic colour; it sees the positive and is naturally open-minded.

Colour speaks faster than you think!
